Fit and sizing
Will the June Strap fit my knee?
Yes for almost everyone. It is one size and adjusts with a single pull, fitting knees from about 12 to 18 inches around, measured just below the kneecap. If yours falls outside that, write to us before you order and we will tell you honestly.
Where exactly does it sit?
In the soft hollow directly below your kneecap, on the tendon, not on the shin. Sit down, bend your knee slightly, rest the pad in that spot and pull the strap through the D-ring until it is snug, not tight. Our fit guide shows it step by step.
Can I wear it over trousers or leggings?
Over thin leggings, yes. For jeans, work trousers or anything thick, wear it against the skin or over a thin sock-like layer so the pad can press evenly. Most people wear it under clothes and forget it is there.
How tight should it be?
Snug enough that it does not shift when you walk, loose enough that you never feel pins and needles. If your foot tingles or the skin below the strap goes pale, it is too tight. Loosen it a notch.
Wearing it every day
Will it slide down when I move?
No. That is the one job it is built to do. The gel-grip inner holds the pad in place on stairs, hills and long shifts, and the one-hand dial keeps the tension where you set it.
How long can I wear it?
All day is fine for most people. Take it off at night, and give the skin a break if you notice any rubbing. If you are wearing it for more than a few weeks and the knee is not improving, see a physiotherapist or your doctor.
Is it hot or bulky?
No. The cover is a light breathable CoolKnit and the pad is a thin strip of silicone, about 17 cm by 5 cm. It disappears under most clothing.
How do I wash it?
Hand wash in cool water with mild soap, rinse, and air dry flat. Do not tumble dry or iron. Washed this way it keeps its grip for months of daily wear.
Results
Who is it for?
People whose knee complains just below the kneecap on stairs, hills, long walks, gardening, standing all shift or after a run. That pattern is often called patellar tendon pain, jumper's knee or runner's knee. It is not designed for ligament injuries, swelling from a fall or pain deep inside the joint.
How quickly will I feel a difference?
Most people notice steadier support on the first stair or the first hill. The point of the strap is to change how load reaches the tendon while you move, so the effect is immediate rather than something that builds up.
Is this a medical device? Should I see someone first?
It is a support strap, not a treatment. If your knee is swollen, locked, gave way suddenly or has been hurting for more than a few weeks, get it looked at by a clinician. A strap is a sensible companion to that advice, not a replacement for it.
Can I wear it on both knees?
Yes. Many people buy the 2-pack for exactly that, or to keep one in the gym bag. The 2-pack is $53.99 and the 3-pack is $71.98.
